Peripatetic Support Worker

Location: Hampshire & Eastleigh
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, full-time

Are you a Support Worker who enjoys variety and would like the opportunity to work across different services, meet new people and make a positive difference to the individuals you support?

We’re looking for a Peripatetic Support Worker to join our friendly team, supporting people across our residential care homes and supported living services in Hampshire and Eastleigh.

You’ll work across three services, getting to know different individuals and teams and adapting your approach to meet their individual needs. No two days will necessarily be the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role.

The role includes day shifts, night shifts and sleep-ins. As a peripatetic member of the team, you’ll need to be flexible to work the shifts required to support the services, including providing cover for annual leave and other staffing needs. 

You’ll support individuals with autism, learning disabilities and a range of support needs, helping them live as independently as possible and enjoy everyday life.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as you’ll be travelling between services. You’ll also need to be comfortable driving company vehicles when required.

About the Role

As a Peripatetic Support Worker, you will:

• Provide person-centred support across our three services


• Support individuals with their daily routines and promote independence


• Build positive and respectful relationships with the people we support


• Support with activities, appointments and community outings


• Assist with personal care and structured routines where required


• Work alongside different teams to maintain high-quality care


• Adapt to different environments, individuals and support needs


• Travel between services when required

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Compassionate, reliable and positive


• Confident working with different teams and individuals


• Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations


• A good communicator with a person-centred approach


• Comfortable supporting individuals with a range of needs


• Able to travel between our services when required


• In possession of a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle

Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
