Role: Children's Contracts Support Worker
Contract Type: Temporary, Ongoing (Potential to Become Permanent)
Pay: £16.00ph
Location: Kent (Community-Based / Multiple Locations)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm (40 Hours Per Week)
Travel: Regular travel to various homes and properties across Kent

We are currently recruiting for a Young Persons Support Worker to join an established housing and support provider in Kent.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, as they transition into adulthood and independent living.

About the Role

This is a community-based role, where you will support young people living in accommodation across Kent. You will have your own caseload and regularly travel to different properties to provide face-to-face support.

You will help young people develop the skills and confidence they need to live independently, while working closely with social workers and other professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing a caseload of young people and providing regular support
- Visiting young people in their homes and providing practical support
- Helping young people develop independent living skills
- Supporting with budgeting, education, social activities and accessing services
- Assisting young people with moving into accommodation and completing inductions
- Supporting care plans and pathway plans and monitoring progress
- Identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns, incidents and other issues
- Liaising with social workers, local authorities and other professionals
- Ensuring young people understand house rules and accommodation requirements
- Checking that accommodation standards are maintained
- Maintaining accurate records and keeping case notes up to date
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure a high-quality service is delivered
About You

We are looking for someone passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them develop independence.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience working with children or young people in a care, support or similar setting
- Experience supporting vulnerable young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage your own workload and caseload
- A proactive, patient and resilient approach
- NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one
- Enhanced DBS
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car - essential
- The ability and willingness to travel across Kent regularly

Experience working with UASC, care leavers, looked-after children, supported accommodation or semi-independent living would be particularly advantageous.
