Job Description - Support Workers - Learning Disabilities

Pay: £12.25 p/hr (non-complex rate) - £12.80 p/hr (complex rate)

Bonus schemes: up to £300 new starter, £300 Refer a Friend, £300 annual bonus. £25 birthday gift voucher.

Job Role

You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a great Support Worker. If you have, a warm and welcoming smile then a role with Be Caring would be the right fit for you. As a Support Worker, you will be kind and compassionate building caring and supportive relationships with the individual you support and their families. At LIFE, we want everyone to reach their full potential.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Be the Best You Can Be: Be a great communicator, listening to the person to understand their wants, needs, dreams and ambitions.
  • Be Safe: Have the person’s best interests in everything you do, protecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Be Involved: Be a motivator, encouraging and guiding the person you support to take small but brave steps towards learning new skills, meeting new people and attending local community groups.
  • Be Proud: Support the person to become as independent as they can, making their own choices, decisions and managing their finances.

Training

  • Paid induction training: classroom-based, includes shadowing and additional online modules.
  • Additional Specialist Training: provided to all new recruits - equipping you to meet the needs of the people we support and enabling you to provide person-centred approach.
  • Training development: funded Level 3 and other accredited courses.
