Job Description - Supported Living Worker

Supported Living Worker

Salary: £24,854 - £25,742 per year

Location: Cranleigh, Surrey

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week (Rota basis, including alternate weekends)

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support adults with additional needs to live fulfilling, independent lives?

Our client is a supported living house based in Cranleigh. Their tenants have a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties and language and communication challenges.

They’re looking for caring, compassionate people to join their friendly team.

No previous experience is required – just empathy, resilience and a positive attitude.

They’ll give you a full induction, specialist training and ongoing support so you feel confident from day one.

What you’ll be doing

As a Supported Living Worker you’ll help tenants with all aspects of daily life – from cooking, cleaning and shopping to accessing the community, attending college or enjoying trips out. You’ll also support them in their leisure time, making it feel like home.

Sometimes tenants may feel anxious or frustrated. They’ll equip you with the skills and confidence to support them safely and effectively, including Team Teach positive behaviour training (Fully funded and refreshed every two years).

Because of the semi-rural location, a driving licence and access to transport is highly desirable. You may be required to drive tenants or staff using your own vehicle (with appropriate insurance) or a company vehicle.

Why join them?

Along with the satisfaction of making a real difference, they offer:

  • £1,000 retention bonus (£250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, £500 after 18 months) – subject to tax / NI)
  • Fully funded QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (With opportunity to progress to Senior Support Worker)
  • Life Insurance and Medical Cashplan (After 1 month’s service)
  • Free hot lunch during term time
  • Personalised CPD and regular 1:1 support
  • Employee Assistance Programme – confidential wellbeing support 24/7
  • 25 days holiday plus public holidays
  • Staff discounts on local fitness classes
