System Design Engineer

We are supporting a leading independent provider of project engineering based in Redhill who are looking to add a System Design Engineer to their growing team. This is a full-time permanent position.

About the System Design Engineer Job:

Key Responsibilities:

* Use of recognised drawing standards, including knowledge of BS(Apply online only)

* Developing design concepts from first principles with proven engineering design skills and strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques

* Producing high quality drawings (2D and 3D) using a CAD tool of choice (candidate can assist in the process of deciding the software should adopt) to ISO standards

* Producing of STEP files for transfer for transfer to customer/clients as required

* Taking a rough mechanical design and turn into a refined drawing outputs

* Producing Visio drawings as required to assist with other company needs

* Using CAD packages such as AutoCAD. Ideally experience of an Electric CAD package e.g. SEE Electrical / ETAP.

The Successful System Design Engineer candidate will have:

* A minimum qualification HND/HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent, along with proven knowledge of and adherence to EU directives electrical safety and compliance.

* A minimum of four years’ experience in production of electronic and mechanical drawings at a significant quantity

* Experience in electrical engineering regulatory environment for electrical installations including BS7671 wiring regulations (18th edition)

* Familiarity with relevant technical standards is required for both EMC and LVD

* Ability to work hard, show tenacity, proactively work on own initiative, solve problems using own judgement

* Must hold, or have ability to achieve SC Security Clearance

* Experience in standard office applications

Desirable:

* A minimum of five years of experience in electrical / systems design desirable.
