Systems Operations Lead

I'm hiring as a Systems Operations Lead, offering a great mix of hands-on technical work and leadership. The team is looking for someone who can lead engineers, manage operational delivery, and bring a strong infrastructure background across areas such as Windows, Linux, storage, and backup technologies.

Hybrid working: 3 days a week in London

Duration: Initial 6 months

Day Rate: up to £800pd inside IR35 via umbrella

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day infrastructure operations, ensuring incidents, service requests and operational activities are managed effectively.
Oversee Windows, Linux, storage and backup environments, ensuring platform stability and resilience.
Manage operational delivery while parallel transformation and modernisation initiatives are underway.
Coordinate and support a team of technical SMEs, ensuring workloads are prioritised and delivered effectively.
Act as an escalation point for operational and infrastructure-related issues.
Drive service reliability, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the environment.
Required Experience

Strong infrastructure background with experience across Linux and Windows server environments.
Good understanding of storage, backup and wider infrastructure technologies.
Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Operations, or Production Support environments.
Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
Comfortable remaining hands-on and involved in technical delivery on a daily basis.
