A lovely primary school in Weymouth is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract for one year, with an immediate start available.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school team.

You’ll work with children on a one-to-one and small-group basis, supporting learning across the curriculum and helping every child to build confidence, develop independence and reach their potential.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide engaging, inclusive and supportive learning experiences for pupils.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis
Assist with learning across the primary curriculum
Help children develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
Work alongside the class teacher to support lesson delivery
Provide encouragement and reassurance to pupils who may need additional support
Help create a positive, safe and nurturing classroom environment
Support pupils with their social, emotional and academic development
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Prepare and organise classroom resources when required
Work effectively as part of a friendly and supportive school team
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
About You

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
