Job Description - Tanker Driver

26T Tanker Driver – Brighton & Surrounding Areas

Location: Brighton
Salary: DOE, with overtime and night-out allowances
Hours: Full-time, with occasional weekend and overtime work

Holt Recruitment are working on behalf of a long-standing client to find an experienced 26T Tanker Driver to join their team. This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who is organised, self-motivated, and keen to work in a busy, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and drive a 26T vacuum tanker in line with DVSA and HSE regulations
Remove waste from sites and deliver non-potable water
Dispose of waste safely in accordance with EWC/environmental regulations
Complete job paperwork accurately, using a tablet for digital logs
Perform daily vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance
Service and restock customer welfare units and portable toilets
Plan routes and jobs with the depot and tanker services team
Attend sites including construction and events (some weekend/bank holiday work)
Clean and maintain tanker equipment (hoses, pumps, filters, etc.)
Promote tanker services and report new business leads

What We’re Looking For

Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence and Driver CPC
Digital Tacho card and working knowledge of tacho regulations
Confidence using tablets/apps for job updates
Practical skills for basic mechanical maintenance
Reliable, hard-working, and capable of working independently
Strong awareness of health & safety
Willingness to work occasional overtime and stay overnight when required

Desirable (not essential)

Previous tanker or waste handling experience
Knowledge of environmental waste regulations
