Tax Advisor

I'm supporting a global financial services business in their search for an experienced tax professional to join their team as a Tax Advisor.

Based out of Rugby, the team provides comprehensive support on UK direct taxes, offering both telephone and written consultancy advice. They also deliver technical guidance to other departments across the business.

The company offers a strong flexible working policy, with just one day per week required in the Rugby office — the rest of the week can be worked from home.

They’ve successfully hired professionals from both HMRC and accountancy firm backgrounds, so experience from either environment would be highly relevant.

Main duties of the position:

• Deal with telephone calls in a courteous, enthusiastic, and efficient manner
• Research queries and provide answers supported by legislation and HMRC references whilst managing clients’ expectations
• Ensure accuracy in advice and actions taken, in accordance with FCA and other regulations
• Manage own time resources and workload to ensure calls are dealt with promptly
• Accurately record advice given
• Maintain and update tax knowledge
• Collaborate with team manager to provide coaching to new and existing team members.
• Monitor changes to legislation and share relevant changes with the team.
• Provide team training sessions as required on topics agreed with manager, e.g. Budget updates.
• Assist team members with their queries on a day-to-day basis.

Salary up to £45,000
