What you will do:
• Preparing month end tax accounting journals
• Preparing monthly tax balance sheet reconciliations
• Support with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns including annual adj, CGS, BDR claims
• Assist with the preparation of periodic transfer pricing calculations and accounting entries
• Support with the preparation of PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSA) analysis
• Contribute with accounting analysis for our external tax advisors for the annual Corporation Tax return and R&D
• Assist with Property related tax matters
• Collaborate with the Tax team on tax automation, maintaining robust Financial Controls and standard operating procedures across the Bank

What you will need:

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Experience in a Tax function, in either practice or industry
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
• Sound understanding of VAT principles
• Understanding of Current and Deferred Tax accounting is desirable
• Studying towards accounting and/or tax qualification (eg CTA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA) or equivalent
• Proactive in continually developing Tax knowledge
