Accounts & Tax Assistant

• Location: Shrewsbury
• Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking to recruit for an Accounts & Tax Assistant to become a part of an established multi-office accountancy firm based in Shrewsbury. This role is perfect for someone with some Practice experience that wants to add value as well as learning more on the job.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Limited company accounts and tax
• VAT returns
• Self-Assessment Tax Returns
• Bookkeeping
• Looking after existing clients
• Signing up new clients

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Positive attitude and great communication skills – both written and verbal.
• A good team player with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Minimum of 2 years of Tax / Practice experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Dext, TaxCalc is desirable but not essential.
• AAT qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
