The Role

Our client , a respected and growing independent firm of Chartered Accountants with offices in Tamworth, is looking for a confident and capable Tax Assistant to join their tax department.

You’ll be supporting senior members of the team in preparing and reviewing personal tax returns and related computations. This is a hands-on role with exposure to a variety of clients and tax matters, offering real opportunity for development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and submitting Self-Assessment tax returns
• Calculating Capital Gains Tax
• Assisting with Inheritance Tax and succession planning
• Supporting with trust tax matters
• Preparing P11Ds and calculating benefits in kind
• Undertaking ad hoc personal tax assignments as required

The Person

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is ATT/CTA/ACCA/ACA qualified, part-qualified or QBE (qualified by experience)
• Has experience working in a tax role within practice
• Is confident with personal tax compliance
• Has a good understanding of IRIS (desirable)
• Enjoys problem-solving and working with a range of clients
• Can manage their own workload and work well within a team
