An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Trainee to join a busy and professional team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in tax, gain exposure to a varied client portfolio, and work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment.
 
You will play a key role in supporting the preparation of tax returns, liaising with clients and HMRC, and assisting with a range of tax compliance and advisory activities.
 
Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of personal tax returns and related tax computations.
Input and process client financial information accurately and efficiently.
Prepare rental income accounts and basic self-employment income and expenditure accounts.
Draft basic Capital Gains Tax computations and returns for review.
Prepare HMRC forms, tax elections and PAYE code amendment requests.
Support senior team members on tax advisory projects.
Liaise with clients, HMRC and other professional contacts regarding client affairs.
Maintain and update client records and databases. 
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with excellent organisational and communication skills.

GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Strong written communication skills, including professional correspondence.
Excellent customer service skills.
