Tax Manager

Sheridan Maine is looking for an experienced and client-focused Tax Manager to join an established and forward-thinking accountancy firm in Essex. This is a great opportunity for a tax professional to lead a varied portfolio of clients and play a key role in both compliance and advisory work.

You will manage personal and corporate tax matters, support junior staff, and contribute to the development of the firm’s tax offering while ensuring excellent service and compliance standards are met.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients.
• Review tax returns and ensure timely submissions.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to a range of clients.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates.
• Liaise with HMRC and resolve any client tax queries or investigations.
• Support and mentor junior members of the tax team.
• Work closely with partners on complex tax projects and client development.
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• CTA qualified, or ACA/ACCA qualified with strong tax experience.
• Proven track record in managing tax compliance and advisory work.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work effectively.
• Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.

• Salary of £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience.
