Tax Manager

Sheridan Maine is seeking an experienced and proactive Tax Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in East Sussex. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, identifying tax planning opportunities, and providing high-quality advisory services. This role involves supervising junior staff, reviewing work, and contributing to the overall development of the tax department.


Key Responsibilities of the Tax Manager:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals and partnerships.
• Review corporate, personal, and partnership tax returns prepared by junior staff.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients across a range of sectors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and ensure client compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Work closely with audit and accounts teams to provide integrated client solutions.
• Supervise, mentor, and support the development of junior team members.
• Contribute to proposals and business development initiatives.
• Assist with internal training and the development of best practices within the tax team.

The Successful Tax Manager Will Possess:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CTA (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of experience in a UK practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Experience managing a team and reviewing work.
