Tax Manager

As a Tax Manager at Evolution Security, you will be responsible for all aspects of VAT compliance, both in the UK and in different tax jurisdictions, including Ireland, Netherlands, Nordics and the USA plus others, ensuring that the company's VAT obligations are met efficiently and accurately. This role requires a strong understanding of VAT legislation and an ability to provide insights into VAT implications for business operations, supported by professional advisors as applicable. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance and streamline VAT processes. In addition to VAT an understanding of other taxes is preferred especially if there is an international component.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns to tax authorities and other relevant authorities on time.
• Review sales invoices for correct VAT treatment
• Support the business around Import / export regulations in UK and other Countries, including Eu to EU Countries
• Preparation of EC Sales and Intrastat
• Ensure compliance with current VAT legislation and guidance.
• Review and reconcile VAT accounts, ensuring accuracy of input and output VAT.
• Conduct periodic VAT audits and assist in internal and external audits related to VAT.
• Provide guidance to colleagues on VAT-related queries and best practices.
• Identify and implement improvements to VAT processes and systems.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT legislation and developments. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws, staying up-to-date with any changes.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning efforts and ensure the company is taking advantage of all relevant tax benefits.
• Work closely with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
• Support tax audits and inquiries by collecting necessary documentation and supporting information.
• Monitor and report on tax deadlines to ensure timely filings.

·       Proven experience as a VAT Accountant or in a similar role.

·       Strong understanding of VAT regulations and compliance requirements.

·       Experience with VAT return preparation and submission.

·       Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

·       Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

·       Experienced in ERP systems, especially SAP based products

·       Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex VAT matters clearly.

·       A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements.

·       A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.

·       Knowledge of Construction industry tax rules (VAT and other taxes)
