The Role

Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a highly progressive firm of Chartered Accountants who are seeking an ambitious qualified tax professional for the role of Tax Partner.

You will be part of a highly successful and dynamic management team, taking the lead role in the management of the taxation services for the business, along with offering compliance and bespoke advisory services to a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be Chartered Tax qualified (CTA/CIOT) with a strong base of general tax compliance and advisory experience working within the OMB sector. Ideally, the successful applicant will be an existing Tax Partner or Tax Director who is looking for a new challenge.

Duties will include:

• Tax planning
• Income Tax
• Corporation Tax
• IHT & Trust
• Capital Gains
• Overseas tax
• Company restructuring
• Tax Investigations

The role of Tax Partner will be responsible for the firms entire tax services, which will include overseeing the firms portfolio of tax clients, management of staff, along with reviewing work carried out by the team and providing support and development to all team members. In addition, there will be a requirement to work with the Senior Partnership group to help grow and shape the business in the future.

Skills and Qualities

The successful individual will have developed a successful career working within a firm of accountants or tax boutique and currently operating Partner or Director level.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to assist in maintaining and developing the firm’s tax offering and to help attract new clients and build on the already impressive client portfolio.
