Tax Senior

Our client is a long-established and highly respected accountancy firm based in South Yorkshire, offering a traditional and professional working environment with a strong reputation for client service. With around 20 staff and 5 partners, the firm maintains a close-knit team culture and offers long-term career progression and internal promotions. The tax department currently consists of two professionals, and due to an upcoming retirement, they are now seeking a capable and experienced Tax Senior to join their team.

This is a hands-on mixed tax role, ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys a blend of personal and corporate tax compliance, with growing exposure to tax planning and advisory work. The successful candidate will take ownership of a large portfolio of personal tax clients and support the wider firm in ensuring efficient, compliant delivery of all tax-related work. You will report directly to the Partners and have the opportunity to shape and grow your advisory skillset.

• End-to-end management of 350 personal tax returns, including data gathering, preparation, submission, and client communication.
• Preparation and filing of personal, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Review and finalisation of corporate tax computations, in collaboration with the accounts team.
• Management of P11D benefits reporting, including data collection and accurate HMRC submission.
• Liaison with HMRC on client matters and handling general correspondence.
• Involvement in the delivery of tax planning and advisory services, with the opportunity to expand this offering over time.
• Monitor compliance deadlines and workflow across the department, ensuring high standards and timely service delivery.
  

• CTA qualified or part-qualified (or QBE with significant relevant experience).
• Solid background in tax within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
• Ideally based within a 40-minute commute of Sheffield

• Salary: £40,000- £45,000 (Potentially more depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm (35 hours/week)
• Office Based: 100% office-based, with flexibility when required
• Holiday Package: 25 days + 8 bank holidays
