Tax Senior

Red Recruitment 24:7 are working on behalf of a thriving Accountancy practice based in central Lincoln as they look to enhance their current team with the addition of a Tax Senior/Manager.

This is a permanent full-time role with flexible working options, that offers a good salary and benefits package in a supportive working environment.

AsTaxSenioryour responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Tax Director as required with tax advisory and tax planning.
Mentoring junior staff, including reviewing work and supporting their training
Keeping up to date with taxation news and regulations, sharing knowledge with tax and accounts staff
Personal tax and capital gains tax compliance and advice, including preparation, review, and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns (HNWI, sole traders, partners, landlords etc) and CGT60 day reports.
Managing workflow and tax deadlines, liaising with client portfolio owners to ensure work is completed in an efficient and timely basis.
Work as part of a team.

Experience, skills and attributes required:

You will ideally be CTA qualified or part qualified and already have experience working in an accountancy practice in a tax-focused role.
Experience in computation and review of IHT, Trusts and Corporation Tax is desirable but not essential.
Good working knowledge of accounting standards and relevant taxation matters
Ability to prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns, corporation tax returns and P11Ds.
A positive, enthusiastic team player
The ability to liaise with the other departments in the practice such as payroll and bookkeeping.
Good organisational skills, capable of producing high quality work in which pride is taken.
The ability to learn from constructive feedback and to learn and develop skills within the team.
