Job Description - Teacher - KS1 & KS2

Nonstop's client is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher to provide maternity cover for their Year 5 and 6 class from September 2025. This is a 0.8 contract (4 days per week) and represents an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

The school is located in a beautiful and scenic area near Snowdonia, offering a unique opportunity to live and work in one of Wales's most stunning natural environments. The combination of high-quality education and exceptional surroundings makes this an attractive role for those looking to teach in a peaceful and inspiring setting.

We are looking for an experienced professional who is fluent in Welsh and has a strong understanding of the Welsh curriculum. The role involves teaching all subjects with the exception of PE and Digital, which are covered by another member of staff.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent communication skills

  • Proven understanding of the Welsh education system and curriculum

  • Experience teaching upper Key Stage 2 preferred

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and pupil progress

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions (Wales) Document

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in line with the Welsh curriculum, differentiated to meet the needs of all learners

  • Assess, monitor and report on the academic and personal development of pupils

  • Establish a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including staff meetings and curriculum development

  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils in accordance with the school's policies and the Local Authority's Corporate Safeguarding Policy
