Clarence Recruitment is delighted to be working with a successful secondary school in Lincoln to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher of Design Technology for the new term. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated teacher to join a well-established department where practical learning, innovation and student achievement are highly valued. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. Whether your specialism lies in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering or a related subject area, this role offers the chance to inspire young people to develop the practical, technical and problem-solving skills needed for future success.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that engage and challenge students across KS3 and KS4. Inspire creativity, innovation and practical skills through a broad and exciting curriculum. Plan and deliver lessons that cater for pupils of varying abilities and learning styles. Promote excellent standards of behaviour, achievement and classroom engagement. Monitor, assess and support student progress through effective feedback and assessment strategies. Contribute to the wider life of the department through extracurricular activities, STEM projects and enrichment opportunities. Maintain a safe and stimulating workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Have experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting. Be confident teaching both practical and theory-based aspects of the curriculum. Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills. Have a genuine passion for design, engineering, manufacturing and innovation. Be committed to raising standards and ensuring every student achieves their full potential. Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive teaching team.
