Teacher of Food Technology – Long-Term Opportunity

PK Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Food Technology to join a thriving secondary school in the Wakefield / Halifax area from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through engaging practical and theory-based lessons while supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition examinations, and fostering a positive learning environment where students can develop valuable life skills and subject knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
Teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
Organising and supervising practical food preparation activities safely and effectively
Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress
Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
A specialism in Food Technology or a related subject
Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
Knowledge of the GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition curriculum
Strong practical classroom delivery skills
Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation
A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student success
