Job overview

The school is seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher of Humanities to join their outstanding 11-18 school, starting in September 2025. The ideal candidate will be able to teach RE to GCSE level and History or Geography to Key Stage 3. Experience in teaching GCSE Sociology and/or Key Stage 5 Criminology or Law would be a valuable asset. ECTs are welcome to apply.

Position Details

  • Location: Leeds
  • Contract: Permanent full-time
  • Pay Rate: £31650 - £49084 per annum(UPS rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Passion for Humanities and education
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Ability to differentiate for varying ability levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Competence with assessment and data tracking

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History, Geography, and RE
  • Teach across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 if appropriate)
  • Use data effectively to track progress and plan interventions
  • Mark and assess work in line with school policies
  • Contribute to curriculum development and department planning
  • Participate in school enrichment activities and trips
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
  • Keep up to date with subject knowledge and curriculum changes
  • Maintain records of pupil progress and behaviour
  • Implement safeguarding and child protection procedures effectively
