Are you a graduate thinking about becoming a teacher? Or perhaps you're already established in a different career and are looking for a change?

We're looking for motivated individuals to join a two-year salaried teacher training programme in the Banbury area, giving you the opportunity to gain genuine classroom experience before progressing into formal teacher training.

You'll earn a salary from the start, work alongside experienced teachers and build your confidence in the classroom, with the opportunity to work towards your PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

No previous classroom experience is essential. We're looking for people with the right attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in working with young people.

Year 1: Build Your Classroom Experience

You'll begin the programme working as a Cover Supervisor, giving you the chance to experience day-to-day school life and find your feet in the classroom before starting teacher training.

You'll be responsible for:

Supervising classes when teachers are absent
Delivering lessons using work prepared by teaching staff
Supporting pupils with their learning
Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students engaged
Building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff
Throughout the year, you'll develop the confidence and practical skills you'll need to take the next step into teaching.

Year 2: Train to Become a Teacher

Following a successful first year, you'll progress into formal teacher training and work towards your PGCE and QTS.

You'll continue gaining hands-on classroom experience while developing your skills in:

Planning and delivering lessons
Classroom and behaviour management
Assessing pupil progress
Adapting lessons for different abilities and learning needs
Building your confidence as a classroom teacher
Developing your professional teaching practice
