Teaching Assistant - Wheatley

We are working with a lovely school who are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP on a full-time basis in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for their students. This school works with children and young people aged 2-19 and firmly believe that their students deserve the opportunity to thrive both academically and emotionally. As a Teaching Assistant, you would work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure these students have the brightest future possible.

Key information for a Teaching Assistant:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Hours: Full-time, 08:30-15:00 (Term-time only)
• Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
• Location: Wheatley

A Teaching Assistants day:

• To support students who struggle with their class work
• Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
• To provide support to the class teacher
• To help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boards
• To keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environment
• To encourage children to do their best
• Help manage classroom behaviour
• Listen to the children read and practice their phonics

A Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone who:

• Has strong communication skills - is clear and effective at explaining concepts and information
• Is patient - has a clam and supportive manner, particularly for children who struggle with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) issues.
• Is a team-player - Collaborates well with teachers and other staff members.
• Can easily adapt - Flexible in responding to different classroom situations and student needs.
• Has a Grade C/Level 4 qualification in Maths and English
• Has previous Teaching Assistant experience - Preferred but not essential
