I am looking for a Teaching Assistant, looking to support students in a lovely secondary school based around Swindon. The school has a wide range of extra curricular activities and trips to places such as universities , helping to support student’s futures. As well as this, there is a strong careers programme as well as visits from outside organisations. With such an inclusive and progressive community, students and staff are well supported.

This is a September start date on a Permanent basis. You will be assisting teachers by supervising activities and working with children on an individual, small group or whole class basis. The role would suit those who can encourage learning to help students of all abilities, and maintain a positive school environment. If you are enthusiastic and keen to make a difference to students learning and development, this may be the role for you.

Responsibilities:

• Helping students with their learning, often with a particular focus on maths, reading and writing.

• Supervise individual or small groups of students undertaking teacher-led learning activities by coordinating and explaining basic instructions for the activity, whilst supervising the students.

• Supervising students, ensuring they are engaged in the classwork.

• Encouraging students to interact.

• Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy.

Requirements :

• Confident, reliable and able to follow instructions

• Flexible and a positive approach to teaching

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Experience working in secondary schools

• Effective classroom and behaviour management

• Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
