Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a committed and nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a Year 1 class at a welcoming primary school in Bury. This full-time role begins in January and will continue until the end of the academic year.

The Role:

Working as a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant within a Year 1 classroom

Supporting a pupil with ASD to access learning and follow class routines

Assisting with communication, engagement and emotional regulation

Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored strategies

Helping promote a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience supporting children with ASD or additional needs

A patient, empathetic and consistent approach

Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for supporting children's development

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial

A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Right to work in the UK

Suitable recent references
