Job Description - Teaching Assistant

EduTalent Group are hiring for SEN Teaching Assistants to support a welcoming and inclusive SEN college in Ashford across multiple sites, with an immediate start available.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a small but growing provision supporting young adults aged 18 to 25 across multiple sites in Ashford. The college offers a structured, nurturing environment with a strong focus on independence, employability and personal development.

Learners study a varied curriculum including horticulture, animal care, creative crafts, Maths and English, and staff are genuinely invested in ongoing professional growth.

Job Description

  • Provide tailored support to learners with a range of Special Educational Needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning, behaviour and emotional development

  • Support learners who may be disabled and or disadvantaged

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and accessible lessons

  • Support personal development, independence and social skills

  • Follow individual Education, Health and Care Plans

  • Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Use basic IT systems confidently and manage workload independently while contributing to a team approach

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people, SEN experience desirable but not essential

  • Education to Level 2 in English and Maths

  • Patient, empathetic and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to self manage and work collaboratively

  • Genuine interest in supporting learners with additional needs

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
