Teaching Assistant

Horizon Teachers are working with a welcoming Primary School in Bexley who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately on a long-term basis.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and proactive TA to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and 2, with a particular focus on phonics intervention, classroom support, and pupil engagement within a nurturing school environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 during whole-class lessons, small group work, and targeted interventions.
Support with phonics to help pupils develop early reading, writing, and communication skills.
Work closely with class teachers to provide classroom support and help create an engaging learning environment.
Provide general classroom assistance as a KS1/KS2 float Teaching Assistant, adapting to the needs of different classes and pupils throughout the school day.
Support pupils in building confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
Assist with preparing learning resources and maintaining a calm, organised classroom environment.
Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging participation and a love of learning.
About You

Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting.
Strong understanding of, or interest in, supporting phonics and early years literacy development.
Confident supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2.
Positive, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
A genuine passion for education and helping children reach their full potential.
Proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic about contributing to school life.
