Vision for Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Blackpool, Lancashire from September 2026. This is a full-time, temporary long-term role for the full academic year, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:05pm, term time only.

As a Teaching Assistant in Blackpool, Lancashire, you will work closely on a 1:1 basis with a Year 9 student who has an EHCP, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential in a supportive school environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 9 student with an EHCP.
Supporting the student to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
Working alongside teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence.
Building positive relationships with the student, staff and parents/carers.
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
Supporting the student's social, emotional and academic development.
Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

Have experience working with secondary age children.
Hold a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent.
Have excellent behaviour management skills.
Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required.
