Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and committed Teaching Assistant to join our caring and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a friendly, creative and nurturing Church of England school, where our Christian vision — “You are never too young to make a difference” (1 Timothy 4:12) — underpins all that we do.

The successful candidate will work mainly in Trust Class (Year 2), and may be asked to support elsewhere, to support high-quality teaching and learning. This will include providing 1:1 and group support for pupils, both within the classroom and in our nurture provision, helping every child to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. On Fridays, the role will extend to providing cover within our wraparound care provision until 6:00pm.

The core hours for this role are Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 1:00pm, with the opportunity to undertake additional hours, depending on the needs of the school. The role will also include supporting our Forest School sessions, encouraging a love of the outdoors and care for creation.

• Be confident working alongside teachers and other practitioners across the school
• Have an understanding of SEN and barriers to learning along with supportive strategies
• Be proactive in contributing to our Christian ethos, demonstrating our core values in daily practice
• Be able to work effectively in partnership with pupils, parents, carers, governors, staff and external agencies
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people
• Contribute to creating a dynamic, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
