Teaching Assistant - Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Salary: £1,900 - £2,300 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Permanent | Full-time

A friendly and supportive primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development. Working alongside experienced teachers, you will provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning across the classroom

Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups

Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development

Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning

Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to meet individual learning needs

Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements

Essential:

GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)

Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude

A genuine passion for supporting young people

Desirable:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant

Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related subject
