SEND Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Rayleigh, Essex.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and wants a role where they can genuinely make a difference.

The role:

Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs

*

Working both 1:1 and within small groups

*

Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development

*

Helping pupils to engage positively with lessons and school life

*

Providing consistent and positive support throughout the school day

*

Working closely with teachers, other TAs and the wider school team

*

Full-time position starting January 2027

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SEND

*

Is patient, positive and able to build strong relationships

*

Is confident supporting pupils with a range of individual needs

*

Has a calm and consistent approach

*

Is reliable, enthusiastic and enjoys being part of a team

Experience within a specialist school would be an advantage, but we are also interested in people from mainstream education, care, youth work or other SEND-related backgrounds who are looking to move into a specialist school.
