Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Regency High School

Apprenticeship Overview:

• Salary: £7.55 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds


• Working Week: Monday 8:40am - 3:30pm, Tuesday 8:30am - 4:45pm, Wednesday 8:40am - 3:30pm/4:45pm every other week, Thursday 8:30am - 3:30pm and Friday 8:40am - 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break


• Hours: 33.5 hours per week


• Duration: 18 months


• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification


• Online training supported by our dedicated tutor

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils through tailored classroom activities, one-to-one support, and small group work.


• Foster social, emotional, and intellectual development in a compassionate, person-centred way.


• Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs as required.


• Promote independence and build self-esteem in daily interactions.


• Help plan and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.


• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent approach to support.


• Participate in creative, physical, and community-based activities including PE, swimming, and school trips.


• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment where all students can thrive.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification.

Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. 

Pre-employment checks. Please be aware that upon a successful offer of employment, the company completes digitalised right-to-work checks and DBS applications via an external provider - 'Matrix Screening'. The company also completes an internal online social media search, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
