Job Description - Teaching Assistant Primary

Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Manchester, Oldham, Trafford, Bolton, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport and Bury
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time/Temporary/Fixed-Term
Salary: Competitive (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP or May and September

We have several positions across St Teresa's Trust schools, Pinnacle Trust Schools and Prospere Trust schools, if you are looking for a long term position that could lead to a permanganate role or just short term and day to day cover around your current commitments then we could have the perfect role for you!!!

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students, ensuring that every child receives the individual attention and assistance they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) as required.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing resources and recording student progress.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and other activities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or GCSEs in English and Mathematics or relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in a classroom, educational setting or with children in a residential care or support role
  • Knowledge of supporting students with SEN.
  • First Aid or other relevant training certifications.
