The School and Role
A welcoming specialist provision in South Harrow is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a positive difference to pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will support pupils alongside experienced teaching staff, helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
The school is open to candidates with experience working in either mainstream or specialist settings. Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs would be beneficial; however, the school provides full training, guidance and ongoing support for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within a specialist environment, with opportunities for professional growth and progression as the provision continues to expand.
The setting supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The focus is on understanding each pupil as an individual and providing the right support to help them overcome barriers to learning.
The school offers a calm, friendly and supportive environment, with small class sizes allowing staff to build strong relationships with pupils and provide personalised support. Teaching Assistants are encouraged to support pupils' academic progress, communication, confidence and independence.
Staff work closely as a team, with regular communication and support available to ensure both pupils and staff feel valued. The school promotes a positive approach, where Teaching Assistants can focus on helping pupils engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
