Teaching Assistant - Sports

The Perse Prep School is looking to appoint a high calibre Sports Teaching Assistant starting in September 2024, to support the children in games lessons. In addition to this support in the classroom, the TA will be expected to support the Sports Department with aspects of administration and to run after school clubs. They may also be asked to cover lessons when staff are absent.
The Assistant Head (Academic), in conjunction with the Director of Sport, is responsible for putting together the TAs timetable which clarifies which year groups and staff they will support. Outside of games lessons, the TA will be needed to support lessons in other subjects. The TA should liaise with the teachers regarding the specific help required for each lesson. Most of the timetable will be working for the Sports Department, with the rest of the time split between a number of other departments.
As with all staff, TAs undertake a range of playground and lunch duties. There may be opportunities to help with the after school Late Stay club until 6pm, for which there is some additional payment available.
They will be expected to take a proactive role in the pastoral life of the children in the school, working with form teachers, Heads of Year and the Assistant Head (Pastoral) to promote the general progress and well-being of all pupils in their care.
