Veritas Education is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Morecambe that is looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA2 minimum qualification required) to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a varied and rewarding role, splitting your time between providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs and offering general classroom support within Year 4. You will work closely alongside another experienced member of staff to ensure the pupil receives the support they need both academically and socially throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism, and will be confident implementing effective strategies to manage behaviour positively and help pupils engage successfully in learning.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs
Work as a general Teaching Assistant within the Year 4 classroom for part of the week
Support learning, engagement and participation across the curriculum
Implement strong behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques where required
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO and support colleagues
Undertake some lunchtime supervision duties

The Ideal Candidate:

Holds a minimum TA2 qualification
Has previous experience working within a primary school setting
Has experience supporting children with SEN and Autism
Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills
Is patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with pupils
