Teaching Center Assistant

The British Council is seeking a Teaching Center Assistant to support its Teaching Centre in delivering a safe, engaging, and well-organized learning environment for children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervises young learners before, during, and after classes, ensuring safety and appropriate behaviour across all areas of the premises.


• Supports teachers with classroom setup and occasional in-class assistance.


• Communicates with parents regarding absences, late pickups, and general queries, acting as a liaison between families and the Teaching Centre.


• Assists with administrative tasks including the distribution of badges, registers, certificates, and other course-related documentation.


• Helps organize and deliver Young Learner events and supports the creation of displays and parent meetings.

Candidate Profile:

• Demonstrates experience in supervising or working with children.


• Possesses strong communication skills in English and French.


• Holds a minimum of a school-leaving qualification.


• Is responsible, proactive, and committed to maintaining a child-safe environment.

•    Must have the permanent right to live and work in Mauritius
•    Job type: 20 working hours per week
•    Salary: from 10 921,- MUR to 12 575,- MUR gross monthly depending on successful candidate's experience and qualifications. 
•    Contract: One year fixed term contract
