Teaching Fellow in Construction Project Management

Opportunity Overview 

We wish to appoint a permanent teaching fellow in the field of Construction Project Management who will strengthen our teaching team by sharing our passion for providing a high-quality learning experience for students and contribute to developing good practice through curriculum development. The appointee will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students on a range of programmes with a specific focus on construction and construction project management, drawing on a wealth of experience and expertise in either education or professional practice.  We encourage applications from those with a non-academic background but with significant hands-on experience of the construction sector who wish to draw on this experience to contribute to the higher education of students studying in this field. Applicants will be expected to lead and develop relevant modules and be responsible for their administration and assessment

Key Responsibilities 

• Design teaching materials and deliver either across a range of modules or within a subject area, using both face to face and online techniques.

• Develop a structure by which the modules are delivered, both face to face and online. 

• Supervise student projects, including, where appropriate, PGT, field trips and placements

• Co-ordinate teaching and learning to ensure student needs and expectations are met

About the School or About the Department

The School of Science, Engineering and Environment (SEE) is an inter-disciplinary School formed from the unification of three long-standing Schools at Salford. SEE comprises world-leading research and teaching across the spectrum from Acoustics, Built Environment, Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Biomed, Wildlife, Geography and Environmental Management. The School’s central strategy is to reinforce a strong international record for high-quality research-led teaching and to continue with our real-world focus on education. This is enabled through university-level Industrial Collaboration that facilitates the engagement of industrial partners in the design and delivery of our taught programmes. 

This role sits within the Construction and Management subject group of the Built and Natural Environments directorate and is intended to support and enhance the student experience of authentic, real-word knowledge and practice.
