Job Description - Team Leader

Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home

?? Balham, South West London (SW12)

?? Part-time | 20 hours per week | Shift-based (7am–10pm, including weekends, bank holidays, and occasional sleep-ins)

?? Annual Salary: £15,288

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in daily routines and activities.
  • Support and guide a team in delivering high-quality care to young people with complex needs.
  • Model professional standards and help develop staff through mentoring and example.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the home and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, NVQ3) or willingness to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a residential childcare setting with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and the regulatory framework for children’s residential services.
  • Ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with young people.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
