Job Description - Team Leader/ Experienced Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Organisation: Yorkshire Primary Care
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts plus sleep-in duties (as required)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Leader to join our growing team. You will play a key role in supporting both our young people and the staff team, helping to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance. Key Responsibilities

* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the care team on shift

* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times

* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment within the home

* Build positive, trusting relationships with young people to enhance self-esteem and emotional well-being

* Ensure the home operates in line with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards

* Support young people with daily routines, including personal care where required

* Prepare meals and contribute to maintaining a clean and welcoming home environment

* Administer medication in accordance with relevant procedures and training

* Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records and documentation

* Act as a role model, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and consistency in challenging situations

Qualifications and Skills

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Previous experience working in a children’s residential setting – Essential

* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills

* A full UK driving licence

* Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm, therapeutic, and consistent manner

* Reference checks, including one from your current employer, one previous employer, and a character reference
