Hourly Rate: £17.00ph/£18.50ph + Shift Bonus – £38,152pa/£41,519pa
Hours: 37hrs – 6am/2pm & 2pm/10pm (Rotation)

Are you an experienced laser cutting professional ready to step into a leadership role? We're looking for a hands-on Laser Department Team Leader to drive performance, quality, and team development within a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role
As Laser Team Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the laser cutting department. You'll lead a team of operators, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a key role where you'll act as the link between shop floor operations and management, keeping production moving and standards high.

What You'll Be Doing

* Leading, motivating, and supporting a team of laser operators

* Allocating work and ensuring jobs are completed on time

* Monitoring machine utilisation and production performance

* Supporting operators with technical issues and problem-solving

* Ensuring first-off inspections and quality checks are completed

* Promoting a strong health & safety culture, including PPE and 5S standards

* Liaising with Planning, CAD, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams

* Driving continuous improvement, reducing waste and downtime

What We're Looking For

* You must have the legal right to work in the UK

* Proven experience in a laser cutting / fabrication environment

* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and production processes

* Previous team leader or supervisory experience

* Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication and organisational ability

* A strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Desirable:

* Experience with Trumpf/Bystronic or Amada laser machines

* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
