Delivery Van Driver/Team Leader Vacancy

We are currently seeking an experienced Van Delivery Driver/Team Leader to join our clients reputable team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a small team of drivers transporting goods in a timely and safe manner on a dedicated routes in the Avonmouth, Bristol area.

Duties:

- Safely operate a van to deliver goods to various locations

- Direct and lead a team of drivers from a loading point in the Avonmouth area, with dedicated routes in and around Bristol.
- Load and unload items from the van
- Plan delivery routes efficiently
- Perform routine checks on the van to ensure it is in good working condition
- Lifting may be required

- Liaise with Transport Manager and Operations Manager to ensure smooth running of deliveries

- Communicate routes with drivers

- Report any issues with the vans or deliveries

- Be the main point of contact from site to Head Office.

Experience:

- Proven experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver up to 30 drops ready to step up to a team leader role or with experience in a similar role
- Commercial driving experience is essential
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Familiarity with the Bristol area
- Valid UK driver's licence with no more that 6 points
- Ability to drive safely and responsibly

- Excellent communication and people skills

Hours:

Collect at 5.30 until finish (approx. 8-10 hour day), including a short day on a Saturday morning. Please do not apply if you cannot work Saturday mornings.

This is initially a temp role, which could become permanent based on performance and attendance.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
