Team Manager – Adoption / Children’s Social Care

Location: Huyton, Knowsley, Merseyside Rate: £36.82 per hour Umbrella Contract: Locum / Agency

We are recruiting an experienced Team Manager to lead a specialist team within Adoption in Merseyside, with Knowsley as the host local authority.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Care manager with strong leadership, safeguarding and adoption experience to join a supportive service focused on achieving positive outcomes for children, young people and families.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, motivate and manage a team of Social Workers and support staff.

* Provide regular reflective and professional supervision.

* Ensure effective management oversight of casework, safeguarding and decision-making.

* Promote the welfare and safeguarding of adopted children, young people and their families.

* Ensure statutory, legislative and regulatory requirements are met.

* Monitor team performance against KPIs, service targets and quality standards.

* Allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

* Undertake case audits and quality assurance activity.

* Support recruitment, induction, training and professional development.

* Lead service improvement and development initiatives.

* Work collaboratively with regional adoption agencies, local authorities and partner organisations.

* Manage budgets and resources, ensuring value for money.

* Contribute to service planning, performance reports and strategic development.

Requirements

* Qualified Social Worker with current professional registration.

* Significant experience within Children's Social Care.

* Previous experience in a Team Manager / management role.

* Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.

* Experience supervising, supporting and developing Social Workers.

* Excellent leadership, case management and quality assurance skills.

* Strong understanding of adoption services and relevant legislation is desirable.

* Ability to manage performance, competing priorities and complex decision-making.

* Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
