Technical Animator

Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!

The Role:

Working closely with the Lead Animator and team you will have the opportunity to develop new features, processes and pipelines. This role will see you involved in the skinning and rigging of meshes, implementation of animations in (Unity) engine as well as assisting with tool creation and fixes.

Ultimately you will play an important role; creating rigged production assets and assisting in making improvements and efficiencies to our rigging pipeline.

About you:

Passionate about games an animation, you will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills. On top of this, you will be a strong team player who can share ideas, challenge the status quo and get involved in technical discussions.

With a thorough understanding of the principles of animation, you will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of rigging and animation systems, with the ability to create rigs and props for various art styles (realistic, stylized etc). You will also have a strong knowledge of anatomy and best practices for character topology.

You will also be proficient in 3D animation software (e.g. Maya, MotionBuilder) along with experience of working with and/or creating animation tools and scripts (Python, MEL, Qt).

It would be great if you join with having seen through projects to completion, but more importantly is a good knowledge of game development workflows and game engine implementation.
