Job Description

The Technical Author will be responsible for the Creation and upkeep of our standard operating instructions. Working alongside of the Manufacturing Engineers the Technical Author will ensure the work instructions our operators use to do their jobs are safety, efficient, quality focused and to the process. Furthermore, the Technical Author will own the SOP change approval process working with operations, quality, and engineering functions to ensure the SOPs are to the best standard.

Key Responsibilities

• To create and maintain SOPs in accordance with:
  • Health and Safety
  • Design data
  • Process
  • Quality
• To communicate with other key functions and take on their feedback to improve our SOPs through the SOP change request process
• Feedback SOP change requests to the manufacturing engineering team to improve the production process
• Revising or rewriting existing technical literature

• Experience writing technical literature
• Good interpersonal skills

• Have a keen interest in manufacturing and engineering
• Able to communicate effectively
• Aptitude for learning new techniques
• Capable of prioritising and multi-tasking
• Capable of working to agreed schedules
• Capable of working as part of a multi-functional team
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Ability to articulate meaning

• Catia V5 experience (1 Year)

• Be able to read Engineering drawings
