Technical Buyer

Technical Buyer | Witney | Competitive salary plus bonus & benefits:

A leading specialist manufacturer located in the Witney area is looking to hire a Technical Buyer to ensure the availability of mechanical components, metals and plastics for the production and R&D teams. On a day-to-day basis, the Technical Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing and the delivery of materials and components. You will ensure that all systems are updated accordingly, MPS/MRP, and that all orders are coordinated with goods in and warehouse teams. To be successful in this role of Technical Buyer we would like to speak to anyone who has experience of:

• Proven experience as a buyer within a manufacturing environment; preferably with knowledge of subcontract and direct procurement of fabricated metal, bespoke manufactured parts, including metal and plastic machined components
• Demonstratable experience of delivering cost savings
• Excellent understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, Risk management, Environmental Social Governance, Supplier Relationship Management & Negotiation
• Ability to understand and extract technical information from drawings and specifications
• Numerate, analytical and commercially aware
• A competent user of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables etc)
• Strong MRP/ERP experience, ideally Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV)
• Excellent organisational skills, high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and forward thinking.
• A CIPS qualification would be preferable but not essential
