Technical Buyer

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to join one of the South West's most exciting employers. The Bristol-based Engineering business is looking for a Buyer to join their expanding procurement team.
Key Responsibilities – Buyer
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet the company's standards for quality, cost, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with suppliers
Manage and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance metrics.
Develop and implement strategies that align with company goals and project time lines.
Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand their material and component requirements.
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies that could impact supply chain strategies.
Manage purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of materials and components.
Assist in the development and maintenance of inventory management systems to optimize stock levels
Qualifications & Requirements – Buyer
Proven background as a Buyer or similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally in the tech or motorsport industry.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective supplier relationships.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Solid understanding of supply chain processes and dynamics.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
