We are looking for a Technical Compliance Technologist to join our team, ensuring that technical risk assessments, validation, traceability, and export compliance systems are maintained and continuously improved. This role is essential for maintaining high standards in compliance with customer codes of practice and external standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Maintain the HACCP, Allergen, Segregation, Label & Date Coding Risk Assessment system in line with BRCGS and Customer codes of practice to ensure full documentation.
• Monitor traceability throughout the site, conducting regular audits with operations and QA, ensuring mass balance is carried out and results are fully communicated.
• Raise non-conformances for failures identified in traceability, ensure root cause analysis and closure of actions to prevent repeat issues.
• Implement and drive improvements in the traceability system to ensure full compliance with required legal and customer standards.
• Carry out traceability for internal and external audits, ensuring training is provided for all members of the Technical department to cover external audits as required.
• Manage notification of change systems and document control.
• Maintain technical compliance for NPD and EPD, contributing to the accuracy of technical risk assessments.
• Carry out scheduled HACCP process validation tasks for new and existing processes, ensuring full documentation of validations in the appropriate report format.
• Maintain validation equipment to ensure full working order and calibration status.
• Manage internal audits for systems against BRCGS and Customer standards and carry out internal audits in line with scheduled requirements.
• Manage external service suppliers' approval documentation.
• Work as part of the Technical team responsible for export documentation compliance, including management of export vet/certification officer visits.
• Work positively and cross-functionally with all departments to drive continuous improvement in technical systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Higher education qualification in Food Science, Quality, or Safety.
• Minimum one-year experience in a food industry QA or Technical role (placement year acceptable).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Fluent in English.
• HACCP Level 3 or higher.
• Food Safety Level 2 or higher.
• Internal Auditor Training, BRCGS, and Retailer Codes of Practice experience are desirable.
• Experience in HACCP, Allergen, and Traceability is advantageous.
